Privacy Policy
DealFeed is owned and operated by NextGen Shopping, LLC, a System1, Inc. company (“DealFeed”, “we”, “us” or “our”). We respect your privacy and believe you have a right to know what information we collect and what we do with it. This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect through the dealfeed.com website, the DealFeed mobile apps for iOS and Android, and any related services (individually or collectively, the “Services”). “You”, “your” and “user” mean you as a user of the Services.
By using the Services, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy and agree to our Terms of Use, into which this Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference. If anything here is unclear, email hello@mail.dealfeed.com. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Services.
We may change this Privacy Policy by posting an updated version at this address, and we may also notify you by email or in the app. Changes take effect when posted, and the “Last updated” date above shows when this policy last changed. Your continued use of the Services after a change means you accept it.
Information we collect
Information you give us
You can browse deals without an account. We collect personal information when you choose to provide it, for example:
- Account details: your email address, and a unique account ID. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address and a unique identifier from that provider. If you use Sign in with Apple’s “Hide My Email” option, we receive a relay address instead of your email.
- Sign-in codes: when you sign in by email, we send a one-time code to the address you enter. We do not use passwords.
- Your activity in DealFeed: deals you save, deals you have already seen in your feed, the interests (categories) you pick, and feedback you give on a deal (for example, whether a deal worked).
- Invites: your invite code, and which invite code (if any) brought you to DealFeed.
- Communications: messages you send us, and your notification and email preferences.
Contact and creator applications
If you use our contact form, we collect your email address, the topic and your message so we can respond. If you apply to the DealFeed creator program, we collect the information in your application: your name, email, optional phone number, US state, social media profiles and links to your posts, the details you share about your content and experience, and your optional rate expectations. We use this only to evaluate and manage creator applications and partnerships. We keep applications for up to 12 months after a decision, or longer if you join the program, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time through the contact form.
Anonymous accounts
To let you save deals without signing up, the first time you save a deal we create an anonymous account tied to your device or browser. It holds only your saves, seen deals and preferences, not your name or email. If you later sign in, that activity moves to your signed-in account.
Information collected automatically
When you use the Services, we and our service providers automatically collect information such as:
- your IP address (which may indicate your approximate location), device type, operating system and app version;
- browser type and language preferences;
- the pages and deals you view, searches you run, deals you click through to a retailer, and the dates and times of your visits;
- the website or link that referred you to DealFeed;
- a push notification token, if you allow notifications on your device.
We collect this using cookies and similar technologies on the web, device storage in the apps, and server logs. We use a cookie to keep you signed in, and device storage to remember your saves and preferences. Most browsers accept cookies automatically; you can set yours to refuse them, but some features, such as staying signed in, may then not work.
Purchases
DealFeed does not sell products and never sees your payment details. When you click a deal, you go to the retailer’s site (for example Amazon), and your purchase is between you and that retailer. Affiliate networks may tell us that a purchase was made through a DealFeed link so that we can be paid a commission, but they do not give us your payment information.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- provide the Services, including your feed, saved deals and account, and keep you signed in across devices;
- personalize the deals we show you based on your interests and activity;
- send the notifications and emails you have asked for, such as new deal updates, price drops on saved deals, a daily roundup, and sign-in codes;
- check and improve deal quality, including using your feedback to remove deals that have ended;
- understand how the Services are used, measure our marketing, and fix problems;
- credit invites, and earn affiliate commissions on purchases made through our links;
- prevent fraud and abuse, keep the Services secure, and comply with the law.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent, on the need to provide the Services you asked for, on our legitimate interests (where your rights do not override them), or on a legal obligation.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described here:
- Service providers that help us run DealFeed, under contracts that require them to keep it confidential and use it only to provide their services to us. These include cloud hosting and databases (for example, our site runs on Vercel and our database is hosted in the United States), email delivery (for sign-in codes and other emails), push notification delivery (Apple and Google), sign-in providers (Google and Apple), and product analytics and error monitoring.
- Retailers and affiliate networks: when you click a deal, the retailer and affiliate network receive the information needed to record the click and any resulting purchase, as described in their own privacy policies.
- Our corporate family: System1, Inc. and its affiliates, which are bound by this policy when they handle DealFeed data.
- Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, personal information may be shared during negotiations and transferred as part of that transaction.
- Legal reasons: when we believe disclosure is required by law or legal process, or is needed to investigate fraud or misuse, protect our rights, or protect the safety of our users or the public.
Advertising and analytics
We use a product analytics provider to understand how people find and use DealFeed, for example which steps of sign-up people complete and which features they use. We may also work with advertising partners to promote DealFeed on other sites and apps and to measure whether those campaigns led to installs or visits. These partners may use cookies, pixels or mobile identifiers.
You can limit ad tracking in your device settings (on iOS, under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; on Android, under Settings → Privacy → Ads). On the web, you can opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies through the Digital Advertising Alliance at optout.aboutads.info and the Network Advertising Initiative at optout.networkadvertising.org. We do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
Your choices
- Notifications: you can turn push notifications off at any time in your device settings, and change which alerts you get in the app.
- Email: you can unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any such email. We will still send sign-in codes you request.
- Interests: you can change the categories that shape your feed at any time.
- Cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Deleting your account
You can delete your DealFeed account and its data at any time: in the app, go to Account and choose Delete account; on the web, go to dealfeed.com/account and choose Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, saved deals, seen-deal history, interests, feedback and invite code from our active systems. You can also email hello@mail.dealfeed.com with the subject “DELETE ACCOUNT”; we will verify that you own the account before deleting it. We may keep limited records where the law requires it or to prevent fraud, and copies in backups are removed as those backups expire.
Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information as described above. We may keep aggregated or de-identified information that no longer identifies you.
Security
We take commercially reasonable physical, technical and administrative steps to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and limiting who can access our systems. No method of transmitting or storing data is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, and any transmission is at your own risk.
Links to other websites
DealFeed links to retailers and other third-party sites. We do not control those sites, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to them. Information you give them is governed by their own privacy policies.
Your state privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including California and other U.S. states with consumer privacy laws, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it; to access, correct or delete it; to obtain a portable copy; and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information or its use for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. To make a request, email hello@mail.dealfeed.com. We will verify your request using the email address on your account, and you may use an authorized agent where the law allows. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code § 1798.83) lets California residents ask about our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Email hello@mail.dealfeed.com or write to NextGen Shopping, LLC, 40 Triangle Center, Suite 203, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598, and include the email address on your account.
Children
The Services are not directed to children, and we do not permit anyone under 16 to use them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
Where we process data
DealFeed is operated from the United States and our database is hosted in the United States. If you use the Services from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.
